Fade Removal
Cover-up fading in Ottawa
I lighten existing tattoos with the Candela PicoWay so your tattoo artist has a clean canvas for a cover-up. Fading usually takes fewer sessions than full removal, spaced several weeks apart, with minimal downtime. Pricing is per square inch, confirmed at your consultation, inside Be U Lounge on Merivale Road.
How it works
- Consultation. We look at your existing tattoo and talk about the cover-up you have in mind — bring your artist's input if you have it.
- Fading sessions. Short laser visits lighten the old ink in stages, spaced several weeks apart.
- Checkpoints. We stop when the tattoo is light enough for your artist's design — not a session more.
- Healing. Once the skin has fully settled, you're ready for your new tattoo.
Is it right for you?
Cover-up fading suits anyone who wants new ink over old. You don't have to erase the past completely — just fade it enough for what's next.
Most people can be treated safely, but please tell me first if any of these apply to you:
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- You have taken Accutane (isotretinoin) in the last 6 months.
- The area has recent sun exposure, a tan, or self-tanner.
- You take a photosensitizing medication.
